Prime Ministers Turnbull and Trudeau meet at APEC
Prime Ministers Malcolm Turnbull and Justin Trudeau met on the margins of the APEC Summit in Lima, Peru. The two leaders discussed ways to enhance commercial and security ties between Australia and Canada.
Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement
The Joint Standing Committee on Treaties report into the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) was tabled in Parliament on 30 November 2016. The committee report included a number of recommendations, including that Australia take binding treaty action to ratify the TPP.
ASIC and OSC sign agreement to support innovative businesses
Under a recently signed agreement, innovative Fintech companies in Australia and Ontario will be able to draw on support from the combined resources of the financial regulators in each other's markets. ASIC and the OSC have also committed to share information on emerging trends and the potential impact on regulation.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has released the International Investment Australia 2015 Report. The publication is an informative resource providing detailed snapshots of the latest trends in Australia’s international investment position with the world.

Australian Screen Industry worth $3 billion
Screen Currency, the first comprehensive assessment of the economic, social and cultural worth of the nation’s screen sector, shows that the creation of Australian screen content and talent provides around $3 billion annually to the economy, generating in excess of 25,000 jobs.
Australia investing in the next generation of resources
The Australian Government is supporting the development of the next wave of mineral, energy and groundwater resources, with work now underway on the $100 million Exploring for the Future program, which will focus in particular on exploration in Northern Australia.

ACSC Cyber Security Conference
