Postage and Payment

  • Payments are to be made in Canadian dollars by money order or certified bank cheque/bank draft payable to the applicable mission.  Credit card facilites (Visa/MasterCard)are available at the High Commission and Consulates using the credit card authorisation form.

  • Cash and debit card payments will not be accepted at consular and passport outreach sessions. Please use the credit card authorisation form or provide payment by money order or certified bank cheque/bank draft payable to the applicable mission.

  • Unless collected in person, passports and documents are returned by Canada Post registered mail for which additional fees apply. 

  • If you prefer, you may provide an express or priority prepaid envelope from Canada Post or prepaid envelope from the courier company of your choice for the return of your documents. Applicants outside of Canada are encourged to provide a prepaid self addressed courier envelope.

  • A passport application fee is generally non-refundable, even if the passport is not issued.
